Thompson Square Kicks Off Central Plains Dairy Expo
One of country music’s hottest new duos is coming to Sioux Falls
Sioux Falls, SD– Thompson Square—winners of recent Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Duo of the Year awards—will kick off the Central Plains Dairy Expo at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Tuesday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m.
General admission tickets go on sale this Saturday, January 10, at noon for just $20 (plus applicable fees) and are available at the KELOLAND Box Office inside the PREMIER Center, online at Ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
The husband and wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson will perform their breakout hit, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.” Released in 2010, the single surpassed two million in sales, was the No. 1 Digital Soundscan Single for five weeks straight, the No. 1 Country Ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and the Most Played Song at Country Radio in 2011 The couple followed that success with the award winning hit, “I Got You,” and critically-acclaimed, “Glass.”
Their star continued to rise in 2014 with their No. 1 Gold selling, “If I Didn’t Have You” and the Top 5 hit, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About,” both from their current album, “Just Feels Good.”
The couple says they are working on a new album to be released in the spring.
A reviewer for NewsOK.com described a recent Thompson Square concert this way:
“From the more lively ‘I Got You’ that introduced the show to the sweet and tender ballad ‘If I Didn’t Have You’ the couple holds the entire audience, from toddlers to couples old enough to be their grandparents, in the palm of their hands, telling their love story in song just as if the crowd was watching a full-length motion picture.
“Add into the mix a couple of songs written as a tribute to the fans ‘Here’s To Bein’ Here’ and ‘That’s Why We Roll,’ the playful ‘Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About’ and several crowd favorites, including ‘Glass,’ ‘I Can’t Outrun You,’ ‘Getaway Car’ and the encore, the second most-played song on country radio in 2011, ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,’ the energy, passion and talent of the duo and their band provides one of the most entertaining live shows around – the kind you leave wondering when they’ll be playing near you again.”
Don’t miss Thompson Square on March 24 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, brought to you by your dairy farmers and the Central Plains Dairy Expo, a Gunn Production.
