Sioux Falls Stampede Announce 2015-2016 Schedule
The defending Clark Cup champion Sioux Falls Stampede unveiled their 2015-16 regular season schedule Thursday morning. All USHL teams will once again play an unbalanced 60 game schedule (30 home, 30 away) from late September until mid-April. The Herd will play 24 of their 30 home games on weekends. 12 games will be played on Fridays, 12 Saturdays, 5 Tuesdays and 1 Thursday. Click here to view the entire schedule.
The season will begin on September 26th at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center versus I-29 rival Sioux City at 7:05 PM and conclude on April 9th in Fargo. The playoffs are slated to begin the following week with the top four teams from each conference qualifying.
The Herd will raise their championship banner on September 26th at the PREMIER Center as they kick off the season at home for the first time since 2009-10 season. Other highlights from the home schedule include AARP Night on November 13th, a New Year’s Eve game against Lincoln on December 31st, the ever famous 9th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic “Wiener Dog Races” on February 27th and Sioux Falls Ford “Take My Jersey Night” on April 9th. All home games will begin at 7:05 PM, except for New Year’s Eve which will be at 6:05 PM.
“We are pleased with the schedule,” said Stampede President/CEO Tom Garrity. “With the majority of our home dates falling on weekends, it will make it easier for fans in Stampede Country to attend games. After a record setting season last year, we couldn’t be more excited to drop the puck in 2015-16.”
Last season, the Stampede set a USHL single season attendance record drawing over 191,000 fans in 30 games. The Stampede had capacity crowds of 10,678 twice during the regular season and led the league in attendance, averaging over 6,300 fans per-game.
